Alex serves as the Operations Manager for the Panama City Port Authority. He currently oversees the daily terminal activity of the Port, including break-bulk, bulk, and container operations. In addition to daily operations, he supports marketing and business development efforts to attract new business through the Port.
Alex has eighteen years of transportation and logistics experience. Previously, Alex invested ten years in the shortline railroad industry. His career progressed from operations management roles to Director of Operations for the gulf region of a large, shortline holding company. He was responsible for safety, on-time performance, financial and marketing efforts on the local and regional level. Alex transitioned from the rail industry to the seaport industry in 2011. He has served eight years in his current role at the Panama City Port Authority.
Alex and his wife, Laura, reside in Panama City, Florida with their two daughters. They all enjoy boating, fishing, challenging rounds of mini golf, and cheering on their SEC football teams, Auburn and Alabama respectively.
